Apyutet: Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at emilyann.leon321@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

I operate in Anchorage, Alaska.

Yes!

Price depends on style and print. Vests start at $160, partial-full sleeved qaspeq start at 180 + shipping. Additional cost for partial zippers( NOTE: Full zipper no longer offered), skirts & specialty prints

No, shipping is a minimum of $8 for US addresses or $35 to Canada.

Turn around time varies, but typically wait time is about 4 weeks upon payment, plus mail time. Rush orders welcome with a fee of an additional $75 per qaspeq.

Frozen Stitches qaspeq feature 100% cotton fabric that is pre-washed for shrinkage. They're single layer pullover garments with simple 1-2 piece trim. Traditional qaspeq will feature a hood, big front pocket, full sleeves and cuff. Modern qaspeq feature knit cowl neck + sleeves.

No. The qaspeq I offer are single layer 100% cotton fabric that have little thermal protection. They're worn mainly in professional/office setting, or outdoors on warmer spring or fall days.

Submitting payment shows you're earnest about a custom qaspeq order. It secures your spot on my list of orders as well as pays for the materials to begin fulfilling the order. I operate on the motto that "money moves" (an unfortunate reality of our current world...but let's not get off topic).

Absolutely NO refunds on pieces with custom measurements.

Refunds for custom orders with standard sizing are considered on a case by case basis, and only after all other options have been exhausted (alterations, exchanges). If granted, refunds minus processing fees will be issued upon return of items in their original condition. Customers who request a refund will not be eligible for future purchases.

You tell me size, style, color and print. You can be as specific with these as you need and we work together to pick out fabric + trim, or you can tell me general preferences and set me loose on artistic license. You make payment, provide mailing and email address and I get to work. I'll send a picture when it's ready, package it up and send it off!

Once the post has your package, we both say "Be with Creator!!" and you may track it via the link sent to the provided email address. I use a mailing program called "Endicia." If you did not receive a shipment notification in your inbox, it may have been filtered to your junk/spam folder.

Yes. Custom measurements are specific to each person. I am able to make a custom fitted qaspeq, which will need the following:

For women, measure bust, hips, shoulder to hem (desired length) and shoulder to wrist.

For men: measure chest, shoulder breadth (widest part across back), hips, shoulder to hem and shoulder to wrist.

I offer one-time sizing alterations on my pieces for free. I no longer offer alterations on other artist's work.

All fabric at Frozen Stitches is pre-washed for shrinkage before cutting into it to make qaspeq. Though, I would advise washing your Frozen Stitches qaspeq in cold water and tumble dry on medium heat. Some people bring their qasperet to drycleaning.

Yes, I'm happy to fill your large group's qaspeq needs. Whether you're getting married and need qasperet for bridal/groom parties, or have a work function you want to make a statement, Frozen Stitches will work with you to outfit your entire party! Your group can choose to buy matching qasperet, or have a variety of prints. For parties of 5 people or more, a minimum of 4 weeks is needed. Group will designate a point of contact who will communicate with me, and submit a single payment on behalf of the group.

You know and love the hot pink fireweed print. That is one of many custom reprints by Hoffman. Every year, shops submit orders in early Fall (October-November) and receive their bolts of fabric the following spring (April-May).

I absolutely LOVE the print on demand fabric printing site Spoonflower. It is a fabric printing company that prints high quality specialty prints. They allow for a broad representation of many different cultures. Their products are pricier ($20/yard for the petal signature cotton fabric) as opposed to the $14/yard for mass produced bolts of fabric, so cost for a qaspeq made from print-on-demand prints will be considerably more.

Yes! Refer to my Qaspeq Sewing Page for details.
